In reality, restaurant Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning (KEC) isn’t really about cleaning – it’s about reducing risk. This can only be done by getting into the deepest, most hard-to-reach areas of your exhaust and removing grease, soot and ash that you both can and can’t see. This also minimizes any other potential liabilities resultant from kitchen exhaust systems such as, but not limited to, rooftop grease, damaged and exposed equipment, and security breaches.
Regularly maintaining the kitchen exhaust system will ensure a secure environment for cooking. A system that is safely working at peak performance will ultimately lead to a working environment that’s cleaner, cooler and more productive for the staff.
American Fire Prevention Inc. has developed a reputation for providing its customers fire-safe kitchen exhaust systems. We clearly understand the importance of a properly maintained kitchen exhaust system and what it means to your business. We also help make sure you’re always in compliance with the latest industry regulations.

American Fire Prevention maintains liability insurance policy coverage at all times when cleaning your exhaust hoods.
Our customers have peace of mind knowing that they have contracted a professional exhaust hood cleaning company that maintains up to date certifications, licenses and REQUIRED liability insurance coverage at all times. Our customers can call our office and request a “Certificate Of Insurance” at any time and usually receive it within 2 hours of their request. We call our insurance company and THEY send the “Certificate Of Insurance” directly to the customer who made the request. This process assures the customer that the policy is valid, current and up to date.
We try to educate future customers by emphasizing the importance of protecting their establishment by requesting a “Certificate Of Insurance” from their exhaust hood cleaning company. Just keep in mind that the “Certificate Of Insurance” should NEVER come from the exhaust hood cleaning company but rather from their insurance carrier.
The old saying goes… you usually get what you pay for and most often we find that the “cheaper company” doesn’t give you the professional hood cleaning service that you require. But more importantly, they may not have the insurance coverage to protect you from any hidden dangers that may arise resulting from their poor workmanship.
The American Fire Prevention Inc. technique for success combines FOUR key ingredients: our proprietary controlled water extraction system, state-of-the-art cleaning equipment, chemicals and proven techniques. This ensures that your entire system is thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom regardless if it takes up to 8 hours to clean.
All American Fire Prevention Inc. associates participate in a comprehensive training program that provides the skills needed to get the job done right. Our experienced staff is focused on safety and efficiency, ensuring a job well done. Each cleaning service is completed thoroughly and with minimal disruption to your business. Qualified supervisors oversee each project to make sure it goes according to plan, inspecting the entire cleaning effort for quality and completeness.
American Fire Prevention Inc. will clean four (4) components of the kitchen exhaust system, including exhaust fan, duct, plenum and hood. We will clean every system in accordance with NFPA #96 standards. If this is not possible, we will provide information explaining why, and what needs to be done to bring the system into compliance with NFPA #96, such as installation of access panels, exhaust fan hinge kits and hood filter replacement.
American Fire Prevention Inc. will clean your kitchen exhaust system, including all hoods, ducts and fans down to bare metal according to your cleaning schedule for each location and cooking type. Depending upon the severity of the buildup in each system, there may be areas of carbonized grease buildup that will require additional attention. American Fire Prevention Inc. will not move your kitchen equipment to clean behind or under the equipment unless requested by the customer at an additional charge. Once all of the cooking equipment has been wrapped in plastic, we use a combination of mechanical (hot water pressure washing) and chemical methods to clean your kitchen exhaust system. We pride ourselves with the ability of having 99% water control during our cleaning process, which prevents the grease water from ever touching the cooking equipment or kitchen floor.
